Meet your guide at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to Arusha, a lively safari town set below Mount Meru and the gateway to both the Northern Circuit and Kilimanjaro. Check in at Four Points, rest after your journey and review the week’s hiking and wildlife plan with the team.

After breakfast, drive approximately two hours to the base of Kilimanjaro. Hike through the lower mountain environment for four to five hours toward approximately 3,500 metres, with the pace and turn-around point set by your guide and the weather. On clear days, the higher summit slopes come into view. Return to Arusha for a comfortable night before safari.

Drive into Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive through baobab-dotted plains, river corridors and seasonal wetlands. Look for large elephant herds, ostrich, warthog, birds and, with luck, the park’s climbing tree pythons. Pause for a picnic lunch before continuing to Maramboi Luxury Tented Camp.

Walk through Mto wa Mbu with a local guide and learn how the village brings together many Tanzanian communities and traditions. Share a Tanzanian cuisine lunch among the banana trees, then continue to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive among Rift Valley escarpment views, tree-climbing lions, elephants and hot-spring country. Arrive in Karatu late in the day and settle in at Lions Paw.

Leave Karatu after breakfast and travel toward Serengeti through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping at a viewpoint when timing and conditions allow. Continue onto the plains for a half-day game drive and picnic lunch, looking for wildebeest and zebra herds, big cats and the birdlife that follows them. Arrive at Serengeti Woodland Camp in the evening.

Spend a full day in Central Serengeti, where resident wildlife and seasonal migration routes meet. Your guide follows fresh tracks and current sightings to look for lions, cheetahs, leopards, wildebeest, zebras and smaller predators, with time for patient observation and a picnic lunch in the field.

Enjoy a final Serengeti game drive while travelling toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the crater for a concentrated wildlife drive through grasslands, forest and lake edges, looking for elephant, buffalo, rhino, lion, leopard and a wide variety of land and aquatic birds. Ascend to the rim and continue to Lions Paw Lodge.
